Things To Do in Hilton Head
With plenty of things to do around Hilton Head, South Carolina, Captains Walk, and Palmetto Dunes Resort, it can be a lot to take in. I have made a list of some of our favorite things to do in Hilton Head.
This Captains Walk oceanfront condo sits in the heart of Hilton Head Island and Palmetto Dunes Resort, making it easy to enjoy many of these activities around the island.
Things To Do Around Palmetto Dunes Resort
Visit the private beach anytime. Bring your own beach chairs, toys, and towels. The beach area has a lifeguard on duty during the day who looks out for your safety and also rents beach umbrellas, chairs, and water gear.
Bring your own fishing gear or rent equipment from Hilton Head Outfitters on the resort. You can fish the 11-mile lagoon or fish from the beach surf. Atlantic Ocean fish commonly caught in the area include pompano and other coastal species. In the lagoon, you may find flounder, redfish, and black drum.
Palmetto Dunes has three championship golf courses and many more courses around the island. There are also 26 tennis and pickleball courts with times available for rent.
With bike trails throughout the island, you can get almost anywhere by bicycle. Hilton Head Island is ideal for both an active lifestyle and a laid-back beach vacation.

Stop by Dunes House, Alexander's, Hilton Head Prime, or Big Jim's BBQ at Palmetto Dunes Resort for a bite to eat. The General Store also offers food and snacks.

Shelter Cove and Family Activities
Visit Shelter Cove to enjoy live music and seasonal fireworks. Other activities around Hilton Head include miniature golf, pirate experiences, dolphin cruises, charter fishing on the lagoon or ocean, indoor and outdoor playgrounds, children's museums, and many other attractions for younger and older children.
Hilton Head Outfitters
Hilton Head Outfitters offers rentals for approximately 3,000 bikes, fishing equipment, beach chairs, umbrellas, strollers, kayaks, and canoes.
Fitness Centers and Gyms
Lava 24 Hour Fitness has two locations serving Palmetto Dunes and the surrounding area. Daily, weekly, and monthly rates are available. Discounts may apply when you mention that you were referred by an owner.
